Quick answer: A weekly rental suits you if you’re new to rideshare or want flexibility, with no deposit lock-in and the option to hand the car back. Rent-to-own suits drivers committed for 1–3 years who want to end up owning the car. At Turn Right, weekly rideshare rentals start from $270 per week and rent-to-own plans start from $205.13 per week.

Option 1: Weekly rideshare rental

You pay a set weekly price and drive a rideshare-ready car for Uber, DiDi or Ola. When you’re done, you return it. Turn Right’s current weekly prices (including GST) include:

  • Toyota Yaris Sport Hybrid: $270/week
  • Toyota Corolla Hybrid: $280/week
  • Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid: $300/week
  • Toyota Camry Hybrid: $310/week
  • Toyota RAV4 Hybrid: $350/week
  • Tesla Model Y: $450/week

Best for: new drivers, drivers testing rideshare, or anyone who wants to avoid a long commitment.

Option 2: Rent-to-own

You pay a deposit, then weekly payments over 1, 2 or 3 years. At the end of the term the car is yours for $1. Turn Right’s plans:

  • 1 year: deposit of 50% of the car value, own it in 12 months
  • 2 years: from $288.46/week, deposit $5,000–$10,000
  • 3 years: from $205.13/week, deposit $5,000–$10,000

Rent-to-own plans include insurance, roadside assistance, 2 services per year and 4 tyres per year.

Best for: experienced drivers who plan to keep driving and want an asset at the end.

Why hybrids win for rideshare

Fuel is one of the biggest costs of driving for Uber. Hybrids like the Corolla, Camry and Yaris Cross use far less fuel in stop-start city traffic, so you keep more of every fare.
